fun times

SSLYBY is one of the best pop bands to emerge in the past decades. Their catchy hooks will have you singing for days, and their sweet hvocal harmonies will make you smile. The whole album is worth the download, but my favorite tracks are "Glue Girls" and Think I Wanna Die". Enjoy!

Nice Pop Album

The type you like the first time through. I don't know what I'll think after 50 plays, but right now I'm diggin' it.

god bless polyvinyl for posting their latest releases on emusic promptly. for better or worse, this album is much more refined than broom, but the hooks are irresistable. a couple of older tracks make a fresh appearance (you could write a book, modern mystery). definitely worth the download.

Predictably More Poppy

I've loved Someone Still You Boris Yeltsin since their EP was released, so I was really excited about this album coming out. Overall, it's a lot more poppy and uninspired than their last album. Still, I love their sound and the song "Modern Mystery" is incredible.

They Say All Music Guide

Missouri’s Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin pulled off a passable, if fun, debut in 2005/2006 with Broom, while the follow-up, Pershing, resembles the indie-hipster version of a college-guy jam band. They sing lyrics like “Yeah, you’re right but you’ll be dead right/Yeah, you look alright, but you’re dead, right?” on “Dead Right,” and rhyme “oceanographer” with “court stenographer,” “news photographer,” and “map cartographer” (“Oceanographer”), the latter of which actually is rather redundant. Although the melodies are hard to remember once the songs end, they can occasionally be catchy, as on “Think I Wanna Die” and “Glue Girls.” – Marisa Brown
