It's about time!

TripHoppin

Morcheeba then and now bring so much joy! Having seen these guys the last few times they toured through Boston I am disappointed that I missed the tour from the new album. The tracks here are thoughtful remixes of solid tracks from Dive Deep and show the power of collaboration and experimentation. We need more!

Good Downtempo

Muse8

"Gained the World" is a tasty downtempo track from veterans of the genre. I do miss Skye's vocals, I must say...Nice mellow production, nothing revolutionary, but good... I prefer the funkier grooves and arrangements of the first two Morcheeba albums, but those don't seem to be available on emusic (yet?)... The lyrics are far from Christian proselytizing, as one of the other reviewers was kind enough to warn those listeners who apparently cannot think for themselves. While there is a reference to the Biblical verse ("For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his soul? "), often otherwise paraphrased), the message can certainly be taken as a universal question of living according to higher values than pure material gain. That is a question which is hardly confined to Christianity...

The lyrics...

...are christian. Good if your into such things. But else, be forwarned. The melody however is mellow/soothing but the lyrics are distracting in that they are taken heavily from a religious text.
