Given that the voice over is by a sculptor, whose work lives in silence, the voice is amazingly beautiful, classic Bryars. And in my view, complimented by the music Bryars composed for the pieces. A fantastically beautiful piece of music. One needs to read the notes to fully appreciate the beauty Bryars was after and successfully captures.
I loved the music.. but had to strain to hear it. Yes, the narrative makes it interesting and gimmicky.. but Oh if he would pause every now and then and let the music be heard !! The recording quality is wonderful and despite the veil of the narrative the music lifts you up into a dark, magic world.. Sadly, it is relegated to a kind of a background role by the incessant voice.
