I fully agree with Raparee - this is fantastic. I have downloaded a whole bunch of these Past Classic opera recordings - so long as you are prepared for the fact that they are just that (older recordings), there are some great recordings available. And older doesn't always mean bad - the sound on many of them is very good.
This is perhaps the best or certainly one of the best recordings of Il Trovatore on reord! Performances are wonderful, especially Bjorling's. Past Classics has also issued another great recording featuring Jussi Bjorling and Victoria de Los Angeles -- Pucini's La Boheme, conducted by Thomas Beecham. I have no idea who they are or how they got the rights from RCA / Sony and / or EMI to distribute these treasures. I suggest that you do not delay in downloading both.
