a hero in a world I would want to live in

thatfitz

IT is not just an artist and its not just music. And although it can be criticized as such I dont think - its not as good as rev vol 2 OR its a collaboration OR the anger makes me sleepy are entirely valuable criticisms (step up your critique game!). In the end, we arent waiting for a better album than vol 2, we are waiting/ praying/ fighting for a better world, or even a living one pretty soon. Until then, we have precious few Techs to enjoy, so go ahead and criticize but if you are not ignorant prove it in 200 words or less... Production value is a little glossy, but I enjoyed Iron Man, I can enjoy Green Lantern. I like the full-verse Hispanic lyrics since we should all know Spanish by now anyway. Golpe de Estado, 3rd World, Rebel Arms and Mistakes are my favorites and measure up as some of his best songs EVER. But I do agree that the non-stop fast pace is tough, with nothing a little somber, like Harlem Streets, to change things up (Crimes is close).

It's just alright

I believe this is a step down from what I've heard from Immortal Technique, just my opinion, and I'm not hating I'm just not ignorant. I don't recommend this cd. Step your game up, your not immortal!

Harder than anything out there

whenelvisdied

You won't like this. Seriously, don't even bother. It's too heavy for you. It'll kick your ass and leave you bleeding in an alley. Go back to your Diddy albums.

NOT REVOLUTIONARY!

Muddyhandz

The beats are better, the anger is more intense, but lyrics leave you wondering "what the hell am I fighting for?" Where's all that good shit that exposes the government for what it is? The stuff that leaves you in tears from how sick the world is? Didn't feel it here on this album. I hope Immortal Technique isn't heading into plain boring gangsta rap with no real message. I still have to give these guys at least 3 stars for who they are. For those who are new to this, check out Revolutionary to get a real taste. Better luck next time!

rEVOLutionary

Opinion. This is the best revolutionary anthem album since rage against the machine that had the burning buddhist on the cover. No candy ass shit. No fak'n gangsta materialist shit. No bullshit. The straightest dope of late to promote the truth and justice. Our civil liberties are being eroded by both McCain and Obama, both who signed FISA. Our country is run by bankers who control the fed, who have made our money worthless paper. STOP the federal rserve. Stop National ID. Get informed and involved before it is too late. Immortal, check this website out. www.breakthematrix.com The whole albym is the rizzle fo shizzle dizzle. Track 17 is the best one. Salam

important to support Immortal Technique

deborama19

I don't generally download or listen to hip-hop (I'm a Radiohead/Sigur Ros/Arcade Fire kinda girl) but my son turned me on to Immortal Technique years ago and I feel it is important to support what he is doing. He is from the school known as "conscious" rap which could not be more different from gangsta rap. He is highly intelligent and politically astute. Well worth supporting and even if you can't relate to the type of music, please give the lyrics a listen--you will be amazed.

Solid Piece of Work! DL

StrengthLab

The first reviewer has done nothing more than throw graffiti all over someone elses hard work and then run away without leaving anything of merit. Typical vandalism and some people think they have the right to do this. Nevertheless, one must understand before one can constructively criticize something or someone else. This is solid work, from the bottom to the top. Listen carefully and you'll find what you're looking for here. And for those who think they should comment in this forum or any other for that matter, perhaps they should do so while stating some facts as to why they dislike the subject at hand - not just show they can punch some keys. Or maybe... they should respect what they don't understand. Download some of these pieces - they're worth your time.

They Say All Media Guide

Fans of the Peruvian-born rapper have waited five long years for the third installment in Immortal Technique’s iconic Revolutionary series, and by the sound of mixtape-cum-LP The 3rd World, the wait may yet go on. Though marketed as the New York MC’s third solo full-length, The 3rd World is more or less a straight collaboration with longtime DJ Green Lantern, who handles most of the production and mixing on the album. Lyrically and vocally, it’s more fiery and intense than his previous work — no mean feat as his fans will attest — directing ire at his favorite enemies: politicians, capitalism, and big business. Beginning with the post-apocalyptic opener “Death March,” Technique draws parallels between the developing world and the poverty-ridden underclass in America, pointing out the irony in U.S. foreign policy effectively forcing families like his to migrate to America: “Invasion, a ramp of monetary inflation/That brought us all to the footsteps of this nation.” He cleverly paraphrases Bill Clinton on the title track, noting, “they might even have a black president/But he’s useless/Because he doesn’t control the economy, stupid!” Yet, at 69 minutes in length, Technique’s shtick wears increasingly thin as the album progresses and the frenetic pace with which he delivers his rhymes becomes tiresome, negating much of the emotional weight behind his deeply felt rhymes. By no means a bad record, fans will expect a more well-rounded affair when the third chapter in the Revolutionary story finally drops. – Dave Donnelly
