This is refreshing! Most of the "Pickin' On" and "Tribute To" series' seem to be too watered down and boring versions of the originals. However,the arrangements, vocals, and instrumentatation work great here on most of the songs, giving it more of an appeal to bluegrass listeners.
I once read a sci fi short story about an alien virus that swept the earth. I took out everything electric. No more fender strats, no more surround sound. Only acoustic, non-electric items worked. But hey, if that happens, holy cow some of the best rock stuff sound great acoustally and this album is an example. Who would ever have thought you could play "Don't Fear the Reaper" with banjos. I love this CD
