What?

You guys are nuts. This album rocks and is still better than most things available. Listen to it a sixth time and rock your 3A!!$ off! ( and honestly, nothing will compare to Rubberneck. Ever. But if they sounded the same for 17 years that would be awful too.)

Overall a let down.

I pre-ordered this album right when I found out Toadies got back together and were touring again. I saw them live before the album came out, and they played so well that it really got my hopes up for the new release. Once It arrived in the mail, I listened to it and I felt like I was listening to a toadies cover band. The only song that really sounds like classic Toadies is "I am the Man of Stone".

I gave it a chance and listened to the whole album about 5 times, but it's just absolute rubbish compared to Rubberneck. All the passion from their earlier efforts appears to be washed away. He still has a shredding guitar tone and a decent voice, but damn. What a disappointment.

Love Toadies, Don't Love this Album

MikeyMel

I was so excited that Toadies wee back together and releasing a new album. Unfortunately, the songs lack any true emotional connection whether musically or lyrically, which is too bad. Also, the sound production is too clean...the band's sound from previous albums thrived on rawness and urgency, which ProTools and aging tend to take away from most recordings. Nonetheless I will still see them when they come to Atlanta, perhaps the new songs do better live than on Pro Tools.
