eMusic Review
Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson's backstory — drugs, homelessness, debt, general nomad-ness — pads much of the discussion of his music. He's (understandably) pretty tired of it and although it's tempting to transpose his biography onto the rough n 'tumble themes of his self-titled debut, it's really the ragged, bright classic rock songs on Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson that should be getting all your attention. Throughout the record, folk-rock tropes (Dylan-esque double-time narration, simple three chord acoustic framework) are filtered, screamingly, through Robinson's clear affection for squalling '90s indie rock.
