Appalachian folk-punk via the Pacific Northwest
Go figure. If you like the Decemberists or the Avett Bros, or even Murder By Death when theyre doing Johnny Cash stuff, you'll love these guys. Southern Gothic / Appalachia folk-tinged songs of death, despair, and sorrow. Less twee than the Decemberists, but that can definitely be a good thing now and then.
An undiscovered secret
I'm conflicted. These guys deserve much more recognition than they've received thus far. But if that happens, it'll be even harder to get a good spot in their already overcrowded shows. This is powerful stuff. Download at your own peril.

I ended downloading the whole album one track at a time. I will be looking forward to more from these guys.
