Excellent Album
This is my favorite Avett Brothers album. It is impossible to label this band, but I think they are probably the best band touring right now. Do yourself a favor and catch them live.
We’re sorry. This album is unavailable for download in your country (United States) at this time.

I saw these guys at the Newport Folk Festival they have done something fresh with the whole modernd day americana alt country thing that is unrivaled by other acts. "Shame" is a key track on this album. The Avetts are able to shape the structure of a song in to anything they want and it seems like no matter what direction they take it, the song gets you hooked. I would definitely get this album as well as I and Love and You or any others. Download and enjoy.
It's impossible to put the Avett Brothers music in any single category. Blues? Rock? Roots music? Bluegrass? It's all of those and none of those. One thing it definitely is, is great. While this album isn't quite as good as I and Love and You, it is very good and is definitely worth owning.
I have to say that I just discovered these guys about a month ago. From "I and Love and You", on down, they just keep revealing more layers (and, a good band IS like an onion). I've downloaded everything that is available, here... and I can't wait to hear what is next. Talent is first, of course, but heart is a strong, strong second.
I love these boys. Their talent on the strings and the emotion and dedication behind the lyrics take you to an uncommon reality as you become lost in your imagination
This song captures the youthful energy of the Avetts really well - there is some of Scott's signature screaming, but in general it's more a bouncy and campy record. Very cohesive, and a must for fans of hillbilly rock, folk, or contemporary bluegrass.
I love, love, love the song "At The Beach" and I also love the fact that these fellows probably wrote it about the same beach I love. They really captured the feeling of walking onto a North Carolina beach. Now that I live 4.5 hours away, it's nice to have a taste of that feeling in my pocket whenever I need it.
I don't know, the endless ballads get on my nerves, but god the rockin' songs rock. If you don't like the first track listen to the upbeat version farther down the list and listen to 'nothing short of thankful' if you don't like that, you won't like these guys.
