Excellent music

BachOnBass

There is nothing weak about "The Factory Girl", sung by Triona Ni Dhomhnaill. It is a deeply moving performance. Mr Winick is not a folk music enthusiast, but a journalist who probably copied the review from somewhere without listening to the music.

Worth the download

Contrary to another review quoted on this site, this is some of their most creative work. I'm not sure by what standard Mr. Winick judges this their "weakest". The beautiful harmonies and counter-melodies present on this album are not typical of traditional Irish music, but should be. There is no synthesizer on this album (no, a clavinet is not a synthesizer).

Nice

It may be one of their weaker albums, but it's still better than most of the Celtic on this site. This is a truly great band. Start with "1975."

Perhaps their weakest album, this is still very much worth hearing. It features more synthesizer and electric piano than before, and marked an era when the band was uncertain of its future. – Steve Winick
