slight shift in direction but another strong album
at first listen i was a little worried by this one. it had all the classic elements of the album where a cutting edge rock band try to do too much and then lose sight of what their good at. after more listening i've come round to appreciate its qualitites. there is extensive use of strings and some electronica but generally this compliments the songs. the band are still as tight and talented as ever, its not quite on the same level as 'white paper' but a fine album nevertheless.
