Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now

I wish it was actually Starship singing their own song!

She would've thrown Billie Holiday into jail

MC-CashDiscount

Now can she please please join Starship and blast off into irrelevance?

Jebus, this is sad.

Why would anyone want to listen to the Star Spangled Banner? It's a stolen British drinking melody with crappy lyrics. Just because Hoover made it the national anthem doesn't mean it's a good song. I'd suggest Woody Guthrie's 'This Land is Your Land'. Everyone can sing it, it was written by an American and it doesn't end with a question.

GREAT STUFF! All the haters showing up proves it!

arm4oz

When so many KoolAid drinkers show up to trash a person and make political statements rather than judge the musical contents of the album on its merits, you know they've been put up to it by their puppet-masters! These misguided souls couldn’t have found this album on their own if their lives depended on it! That'd be above their pay grade! All they are capable of is to dutifully regurgitate the lines they’ve been fed, as any originality of thought is strictly forbidden. Leamers! Great album! Great songs! Enjoy! It will drive them crazy!

wonder how many of the artists listed here like having their names linked with this oppurtunist wacko. Good for Heart for not allowing their song to be trashed by association.

Think!

jugaluck

Sarah Palin sold her image to sell these recordings. They were selected to fit the public perception of her. That's all there is to it. She's not unique, she's a politician$$$

Why Not Carmen Electra?

hertzogood

She's more attractive hands down and her attic ain't empty like Palin's. "As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where– where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border." --Sarah Palin, explaining why Alaska's proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience, interview with CBS's Katie Couric, Sept. 24, 2008

Don’t Forget (The Rest of) The Motor City

By John Morthland, eMusic Contributor

Everybody knows Motown was great, but few realize what an incubator the entire City of Detroit was for soul music in its heyday. For each artist on Berry Gordy’s label there were several more just as good who went with another major, or with a smaller, local indie. Some made their names in r&b, vocal groups or gospel before evolving into soul; others started in soul but had their greatest impact in funk. But even… more »

Rising Tide of Female Jazz Singers

By Dan Ouellette, eMusic Contributor

While the legendary voices of such jazz icons as Billie, Ella and Sarah still ring true, subsequent generations of female jazz vocalists have taken the music in new directions, especially in the '90s, ranging from Cassandra Wilson's new-standard caress to Diana Krall's classics with a twist. Taking their lead, young singers over the last decade have been swinging the vocal tradition onto a new plateau with a pop sensibility. In the mix are tunes by… more »

Townfolk Hip-Hop

By Tambi Younes, Label Relations Coordinator

Nirvana and Pearl Jam. This is who you'll hear about when the topic of Seattle's music scene is brought up in a historical context. It makes sense. Alternative music has always been the face of the Seattle scene. But before Kurt and Eddie, there was Ray and Quincy and Jimi. Seattle has soul, and the hip-hop community in the 206 is the living proof. They love their hometown and the music reflects that. "Townfolk Hip-Hop"… more »

Teenage Graceland

By Wayne Robins, eMusic Contributor

After Elvis went into the Army and before the British Invasion, the years 1958-63 were rock's forgotten years. But they were the years that shaped the musical tastes of baby boomers and of acts from the Beatles and Rolling Stones to Bruce Springsteen and the Ramones. Hear the dance sensations, the one-hit-wonders, the girl groups and doo-wop singers, surfers and rockabilly twangers, the birth of Motown, the evolution of R&B into soul and so much… more »
