genre - soundtracks/other?? one of the true must-owns of any progrock collector, and yet you have to browsing through soundtracks to find this? my favorite proper cantebury album - its a record, yeah i got the old vonyl, that i still think is as close to a perfect 10 as you could possibly be.
Great to see this long-overlooked gem available again. Download 'Binoculars' - Pip Pyle's gloriously melodic paean to his TV-obsessed children, and John Greaves' awesome 'Squarer For Maud', one of the most jaw-droppingly complex - yet catchy and exciting - pieces in the Canterbury repertoire. Then move on to Phil Miller's atypically funky 'Dreams Wide Awake', featuring an almost heavy metal riff over some of Dave Stewart's most uninhibited organ abuse: fabulous, and as fresh as the day it was minted two generations ago. And don't stop there - the whole album is marvellous and a great example of what makes the Canterbury Scene so original, varied and absorbing.
