not so poppy
but good. really good. if you love the books for their eccentric and knowing use of sound, and for their material explorations of philosophy, communication, and existence, and if you understand some french, you will love this ep.
Why The Anger?
First of all, look at the title of the EP. It's not meant to be anything but a collection of "short form oddities." If that's not your bag, don't bother with it. If you're expecting another full length album of actual "songs" by The Books, it's not here... yet. However, if you're a fan of the kind of silly, fascinating sound collages Negativland used to make back in the 80's and 90's, this may make you smile. It's tough to drop 12 downloads on 14 minutes of content, but otherwise, it's kinda fun.
Boring pretentious garbage.
