Not 100% traditional, but good nonetheless

If you are a fan of the traditional Fuzztones sound, this album may not be for you. However, if you're of a mind open enough to see some of your older favorites reworked with a different sound, this album is easily worth the download.

Great against all odds.

I started listening to this record with a very negative bias. First of all the Fuzztones have re-released many of those songs so many times that I have lost the count. Second, the concept of reworking Fuzztones classics (or the classic covers they do) with a horn section seemed a very bad idea to me. Instead, most of the times, it works incredibly well! True, the songs don't sound as tough and creepy as the original versions, but they sound greasier and sleazier, which is not bad at all. And Rudi's voice is still there. All in all, this is a great record and I've been listening to it non-stop for three days. Now let's hope in a new collection of new songs, like 2004's "Salt For Zombies". Go Rudy go!

No! It's no 80's garage revival revival and the times are changing. This has a fat rhythm'n'blues sound with a lot of brass and soul. Well done, Mr. Protrudi

disappointed!

how could they destroy a myth? Back in 1985 when I bought Lysergic Emanations, so astonished by songs like Highway 69, She's Wicked, Just Once, Cinderella... they made the best garage record ever, although just made of covers. It is now twenty years later...too long. Avoid it!
