A daring journey into pureness
Tracy Bonham became well known with the album "the burdens of being upright" in the nineties. After that came the next record "Down here". Both albums in my opinion are good and solid female-rock albums in the best traditions of those days. Tracy adds however outstanding acoustic and electric violin-playing.After that came albums wich becam more varied, more acoustic, more original. She developed a style of her own and had many coproductions with for example the Blue Man Group and Soulwax. The album "In the city + in the woods" is to me a great example of the kind of artist she grew into: rocksongs, beautiful in their pure, sometimes even fragile arrangements, but always with a touch of pure joy for live. In 2008 I watched her perform new songs on her latest tour in the Netherlands. Her new CD (appearing soon) will bring this progression even further.
