I can't believe some people don't like this version. This is the only version that really moves me. Gerard Butler did a great job and Emmy Rossum has an angels voice. You have to see the movie to really appreciate the vocals. Would love to see them do more together.

This version is inadequate and uses unknown session singers singing the songs. The songs are rather badly and blandly sung. Both orchestra and voices are also badly recorded and balanced. Check out the other recording by JAY Records which is also available here. That JAY recording is a far superior recording with actual stars of the West End production, including Ethan Freeman who took over from Michael Crawford and the alternative Christine with Sarah Brightman, Claire Moore. It also stars John Barrowman who joined the West End production a bit later on. It also uses the original theatre Orchestrations played by a full symphony orchestra.
Really surprisingly good.
