Experimental musical form, blending elements of poetry, folk, jazz, and ambient sound. (1) Heat Lightning is a story about feeling powerless in the face of heartbreak. It s hot, hard to breath. A flat cloud cover reflects the city lights. You tremble, numb from waiting at the window for the rain. Maybe it s the window of a jail cell, or of the solitary confinement of your own room. Maybe you re trapped within your own aching heart. The lightning flashes, but there ll be no rain, and she s not coming. There ll be only tears. (2)Left Hand, Right Hand: These are the wages of tyranny, wherever it occurs. Victims of oppression, bereft of liberty and justice, armed with truth and righteous fury, be they left or right, black or white, they will rise up and unite. Together they will lop off the fist of fascism and break the chains of bondage. They will burn away the rot of corruption and build upon the ashes The song is inspired by a poem by Francis Woodbridge, Jr
