The Only Way to Hear the Avetts
Much as I like the Avett Brothers' studio albums, none of them really capture the raw energy that makes their live shows so compelling. I know we've heard that a million times about a million bands (including the Avetts), but seriously. It's almost like listening to a different band, one much more lively and engaged in their music. I seek out live Avett performances wherever I can find them, and this is my favorite of those. It's also a fine introduction to the Avett's music, with a good sampling of songs, well-played. Get it, and be blown away.
