I had to check that I was listening to the right album! I do love rock, too...but there is no way on the planet this is Americana...

Excellent Bluesy Rock
This is an excellent album, with its 70s credentials and Chicago Blues influence clear from the first notes of the first track. I won't list the obvious influences on The Steepwater Band, but they are part of a great tradition that dates back to the Allman Brothers. I recommend downloading "Waiting to be Offended", it gives a great idea of what this band is all about: heavy blues riffs, gravel voiced vocals and it contains the added bonus of a wonderful seven minute guitar jam in the middle that reminds me most of Neil Young's "Zuma" era sessions with Crazy Horse. Great stuff!
