I dig these guys. They have not only Necropolis but a band called Rustmouth that are soon releasing a CD and a female-fronted goth-metal band called Kharybdis. The Dead Season (not to be confused with the band of the same name) is a conceptual CD. It's a very heavy and riff-laden mix of straight forward death metal. Some of the more stand out tracks are "Riding on the Wings of Satan...", "Dominion of the Blood and Sepulchre", "Resurrection" and "The Dead Season." "Among the Ruins" is a nice blend of 8th note triplets and Nile-like harmony. I searched YouTube and myspace and they have a couple videos for this CD. Check 'em out...if you like death metal, you will like this.

This CD is brutal and punishing. I believe it's a concept CD about suicide from what I've read. There are tons of harmony and it's not too difficult to figure that Nile is one of their big influences. Download this now! Can't wait for the new CD!

Finally the REAL Necropolis comes to eMusic...not that punk crap. This is pure death metal with a splash of Nile and Obituary. I've seen these guys live twice and they crushed both times. While the production of this CD may not be the greatest, you will hear why there is much promise for this band for the future. Open the gates to the Dead City, fellow citizens!
