Flipper Rules, OK?

Grover

Sloppy messy slow speed punk rock from Northern California. If you have never listened to Flipper before, this isn't the place to start -- get "Album" (or better known as "Generic Flipper") and "Blown'n Chunks" first. If you survive, then you will love this live documentation of the trainwreck that was Flipper. A note on the album name... its a tit-for-tat with PIL whose release of "Album" with generic packaging a after Flipper did it first, got this response. It was really funny at the time. The original album art is a funny board game, called "Road Disasters."

A two-record set of live material recorded between 1980-82, this is as good as Blow’n Chunks and essential for born-again Flipperphiles. The sound is messy and grimy, but that enhances the experience, but it’s also easy to see that Album was without a doubt their benchmark record and that even the good material released after it (like this LP) couldn’t equal its high (low?) standards. – John Dougan
