Excellent EP

suds

Ben Nichol's unique voice is in fine form. Great song writing too. If you're a fan of Lucero check this out. If you have not heard Lucero, by all means give them a listen.

Blood Meridian bleeds all over this

eclecticus

Nichols does a fantastic job of capturing the mood from Blood Meridian. His voice may not be for everyone, but it is perfect for these songs.

Fantastic EP!!

Rauckstah

Ben Nichols' songrwriting ability is definitely maturing with every attempt. This emotionally in depth album is a big step for the Lucero frontman.

Great but tracks incorrectly titled

Alibi

This is a great album, especially if you've read "Blood Meridian", which it is based on. However, the tracks are labeled incorrectly, namely tracks 1, 2, 4 and 5 (should be 5, 4, 1, 2). They sound like they are in the right order though.

More Personal than Lucero

lkgrimes

This album (EP), to me, feels more personal than most of Lucero's stuff. As a big fan of Lucero, that's almost hard to say. This is a great set of songs to just unwind to. Feels a little like Richmond Fontaine's music, and that's a big compliment.

Just AWESOME!

Ben is just so damn underrated. This solo EP really has a much more country folk root that Lucero had on their first album. Good to see Ben take it back to that root. Download the entire EP and sit back while Ben tells you a few stories of the colorful people in Cormac's novel.
