Truly great jazz fiddle
I kept returning to Stephane Grappeli as my all-time favourite jazz violin player.....until I downloaded this album. Lakatos has a warm, rich, elastic jazzy sound, and the 2nd violinist in the group plays a mean fiddle as well. This album does not sound like a million others (well, I seem to have a lot that resemble each other) - which is why I keep returning to listen to it again. Besides, I'm in love with the cembalon player, whoever that may be (check out the Pictures of Hungary and the other Lakatos recordings). Highly recommended.
