Hurray!
I'm so happy to see them on Emusic! This band is my favorite of a particular New Orleans sound. This album is not terribly new by now: I hope to hear more from them and see more on this site. All of the songs have a similar distant-but-close feel to them, but it never gets too monotonous. My favorite tracks are "Daniella" and "Junebug Waltz." I've only heard them live until finally getting this download (as it seemed they were CDR-only and I just never tracked one down), and I am pleased to hear that it holds up so well alongside everything else in my collection. Anyway, this may seem a little obscure, but this is kind of a touchstone sound for New Orleans at the moment, and it is certainly worth your downloads. If you like this, some other local bands in a somewhat similar vein (at least in my opinion) are Herringbone Orchestra and Why Are We Building Such a Big Ship. Neither are on Emusic, but both (particularly Herringbone) are great.
