Full marks to LSO Live for recording this new (2008) work so promptly. Superbly performed, this major work packs a huge emotional punch, with the crowd scenes when Jesus is before Pilate (track 3)very frightening, leading to a strangely beautiful, desolate ending for orchestra alone. This is a major achievement by an important modern composer. You should download it without any hesitation.
