My album of that year
Very innovative

This expands what music has the capability of being. In my opinion, the best tracks involve the instrument/spoken word duos (1 and 2, especially). Track 7 tend to drag a bit for me, but the album as a whole is just beautiful. Highly recommend for someone looking to keep faith in the human race.
These pieces of music are both meaningful and beautiful. Do Make Say Think's Charles Spearin released a stellar solo effort with The Happiness Project. It is suggested listening for any fan of The Arts and Crafts family or in my opinion anyone else for that matter.
Voice recordings rendered into pieces of music... mirroring wind instruments, basses...thoughtful,happy!(?), and melancholy...this is an excellent piece...made me smile and think and rub my morning eyes while hearing the voices in my life over dubbed by a throaty sax or an arpeggio...
incredible instrumentation atop a brilliantly insightful idea
An incredible union of voice and music - I didn't realize how musical a speaking voice could become. An incredibly creative album, but not so avant-garde that it turns off the average listener.
The short samples don't express the simple emergent beauty of these songs. Charles has created melodies out of the musical interpretations of his neighbors talking about happiness. The little snippets of words/melodies just float into the air, creating something greater than the individual parts through harmony and repetition.
