Best album of 2008
Amazingly, this album was originally supposed to be just a collection of songs the band wanted to put out before the release of their next proper album. With Treasury Library Canada, Woodpigeon have taken a great leap forward from their debut Songbook, a very good album in its own right. Lush instrumentation, catchy melodies, and some wonderful vocal harmonies make Woodpigeon's music irresistible. Songs like "I Live a Lot of Places" and "Love in the Time of Hopscotch" should put a spring in anyone's step. It's good to see the album get a proper release, and hopefully Woodpigeon will continue to gain more recognition for their wonderful music.
