This album really grew on me. It's a real mix of diverse influences. It reminds me of early art-punk like the Screamers and the Fall. But it has a really moody and ethereal feeling to it, not unlike the early UI and Tortoise albums. But it's pretty taut and to the point. After a few listens it really grew on me, one of the best records I've heard all year!
Don't you love it when your looking for something else and you stumble upon something like this. I love every single track but I can't seem to stop listening to "Pioneers". Great song, great album.
Strong and macho. A big punk dick, with excellent use of atmospheric keyboards backing up the spare throb. Real direct and CUT!
Stripped back bass, drums and keyboards and it's the best album I've heard this year. Got some early Pavement in there along with the Joggers, Joy Division and the Fall. Fantastic stuff!
