eMusic Review
When you make a fantastic album, you're allowed to coast on your next EP — a fact which no one seems to have bothered informing Benga. No one should tell him, either, because this five-tracker, appearing mere months after Diary of an Afro-Warrior, builds on that album's intensive beats and coiling synth work. "Pleasure" is both in demand and supply: a woman mutters "Give me pleasure," and a bubbling keyboard delivers. "Better" follows the same basic template (is it the same woman? Sounds like it), while "Loose Synths" is an airtight percussion workout with a squealing jazz-funk melodic motif.
