Yes it is Elton John.
You see this albums all over e-Music. "Greatest Hits of the 80's" and in small type "As performed by the West Hollywood Studio Band". Well this is one of those albums. Remakes of hits of the late 60's done by a group of no name studio musicians. It just happens that the guy singing lead on a bunch of those songs managed to catch a break and became the biggest star of the 1970s. Not a great album by any means but if you are an Elton John completist (like me) you should have this. Note it is commercially available with 16 tracks rather than this ten track version here. Tell me Elton couldn't have a hit with a cover of "Come And Get It"!
