Why the hell would you celebrate what's good about shostakovich with Song of the Forests?!?!?!? He went home and CRIED after the premiere....and for good reason. It sets the phrases "Communist" and "Stalin, the Great Gardener!" to rising fourths in the timpani like Fanfare for the Common Man! And the third symphony?!?!? It's practically tasteless!
