Deastro, Vermillion Plaza
2009 | Label: Ghostly International / IODA

Vermillion Plaza is another slice of hyperactive, irresistible electro-pop from eMusic Selects vet Deastro (aka Randolph Chabot). The full-band sound Chabot's been cultivating since Keeper's is on display here, with big cracking snares and splashier cymbal work. More importantly, though, is the 22 year-old's ear for a hook: “Plaza” bounces and shimmies in all the right places.

That powerfull voice sorrounded by noises that appear from everywhere, you feel like a couple of players are playing diferent songs at the same time. Hiperactive music on so relaxed voice.

M83 is a reference point for Keeper's, his eMusic Selects release, but it's not quite accurate:… more »
