Skronktastic
This is basically the previously released box set: THE BIG HORN-THE HISTORY OF SCREAMIN’ & HONKIN’ SAXOPHONE/ PROPER RECORDS PROPERBOX61 4xCD UK 2003. With that clarified, it is an amazing set

Track 51 of this otherwise fine collection is defective.
Years ago I had a two-record (yes, record) set from Savoy entitled, "Honkers and Screamers". I've never been able to locate it in a modern format, but this collection more than makes up for that. Sheer ear-joy. Even the bad recoding quality on some tracks just adds to the ambiance.
A really great collection of jump blues. If you want to know where, say, Roomful of Blues came from, check out these tracks. Sixty-six tunes for 12 credits. Whattaya waiting for?
More than enough honkin' sax to keep you going through numerous buckets of chicken and pans of cornbread.
Best collection of old R&B tracks I've found. Didn't think I would ever find some of these songs. Takes me back to my teen age years.
