It's like I died and went to Funk heaven....
Outstanding work Mr Fields. This LP totally sideswiped me. Fresh, original, and yet feels like joint born from a James Brown wet dream....but without the cheese. By a long chalk, a country mile, the best thing I've got from eMusic. The "my world is empty without you" cover is marvelous. MoneyI$ King......lovely. All good.
Something a little new
I don't think anyone would argue with the fact that Lee Fields knows how to get funky. Although often compared to James Brown, this new album shows that he can get smooth as well. Look no farther than his cover of the Supremes' My World Is Empty Without You, and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Time warp
This is one serious funk album. Listen to it and you'll be sayin' this is OUR world.
