Melodic thoughtful classic brit-pop influenced
This brother and sister Chicago duo have managed to craft 11 songs that range from whimsical reflections on relationships, to meditations on sentimental yearning and the frailty of human existence. Layered chiming guitars borrow from The Smiths to more hypnotic shoe-gazer bands, e.g. My Bloody Valentine. This band makes their influences their own by mixing interesting melodies and at times frail vocals with thoughtful and sometimes witty lyrics. The end result is a collection of songs that at their best can be transcendent and magical, and will keep you coming back for more. This is a very strong first album. I look forward to hearing more from this band. Sample "Channel One" or the haunting, "Silty Sea."
