totally rock and roll.......totally

sameoldparadise

so you put out the nice clean critically approved albums.... they flounder..... get angry, bitter a la big star?..... heck no.......you go to japan..... where you're big...do live shows.... amp up the production.... get teenage japanese girls to scream..... a lot...... rerecord anything or everything not perfect.... voila.... i can't believe it wasn't in this is spinal tap..... nigel tuffnell: no no no, we sound like shite live..... we just went there to get the screamin' teenagers on tape.. then we record it here see?.... the result: great songs gain an audience..... band makes lots of money... a good time is had by all... listeners get old and get all misty when they hear it 30 years later.... if this not rock and roll, then what is it?

Ain't A Shame

Tabbycat

This sold 5 million copies. "Budokan" and "Frampton Comes Alive" teaches us that if you hit the big time with a live album it means your career is over. BTW, every track here kills its studio counterpart. Gotta love the relentless choas of Japanese girls screaming throughout the entire thing.

Quit bitching

Rustyhooks

Will you emusic sucks people quit throwing your ignorant opinions out! How to do you think emusic even gains access to major label releases? The idea is SELECTION, if you don't want to download then don't. Quit slandering the site and move the on. If you don't want to say something about the music we don't want to read your mindliess word drool. And Oh, great album.

Are You Kidding!!!

ElectricLarry

I love Emusic, but once in a while they completely blow me away. Quite possibly the greatest live album of all time. Plus a good chunk of the rest of the Cheap Trick albums. Way to go Emusic.

They Say All Media Guide

While their records were entertaining and full of skillful pop, it wasn’t until At Budokan that Cheap Trick’s vision truly gelled. Many of these songs, like “I Want You to Want Me” and “Big Eyes,” were pleasant in their original form, but seemed more like sketches compared to the roaring versions on this album. With their ear-shatteringly loud guitars and sweet melodies, Cheap Trick unwittingly paved the way for much of the hard rock of the next decade, as well as a surprising amount of alternative rock of the 1990s, and it was At Budokan that captured the band in all of its power. – Stephen Thomas Erlewine
