much better than the critics say
sure, there's a whole lot wrong, too manybacking vocals....but some versions (Storm, Zero, Maggie, Coffee, Woman, Bleeding)are really, really good.

Flute all over the place? A reggae arrangement of Don't Think Twice? Was I Shall Be Released intentially arranged to sound like I'm Easy? A thousand moments make me cringe, but at the same time, I love love love this album. A low point and a high point at the same time.
This is one of my favorite Dylan albums of all time, and my favorite live album. Dylan is famous for tweaking (or more) his songs in concert, with mixed results. There are no mixed results on this album - I like many of the live versions better than the studio versions.
