Not Bad

This is not bad, but I just frown on collections like this. For one, it just doesn't cover enough material for me, its not deep enough! We are talking about Ms. Teena Marie here! If I were all of you Teena fans I would just explore the albums and then pick what you want from her. That way you can have a complete overview of her atristry.

Lovergirl: The Teena Marie Story collects all of Marie’s mid-’80s hits for Epic, including “Lovergirl,” “Work It,” “If I Were a Bell,” “Just Us Two,” “Jammin’,” and “Ooo La La La.” While some casual listeners will find the inclusion of 12″ extended mixes somewhat redundant, those mixes actually give a better idea of how Marie’s music was appreciated during the time, and makes Lovergirl a fine greatest-hits compilation. – Leo Stanley
