Cornet play estraordinary
This CD combiones two exceptional musical persoalities. Gerard Schwarz is conductor of the Seattle Symphonyt, but is also a graduate of Jiuliard with a major in trumpet. And on cornbet he's exceptionally talented. His partner Gunther Schuller is a fine composer, and former president of te New England Conservatory. He has always had a side interest in turn of the century music. It takes a specil sense of style. Anmd these guys really have it! Soe of the works are by Henry L. Clarke, a former member of Sousa's band and perhsp the day's greatest cornet soloist. "Stars in a Velvety Sky" is perhaps his most famous piece. Highly recommended.
