got cheated?

maddazhell

Purchased Aerosmith'S greatest hits album from emusic, and the whole album was a remake/cover band...wth??? There was no warning or indications of such so, kinda seems like false advertising to me. This is not the first time I've had this problem so, cancelling acct. gonna stick w/ amazon and itunes. Get ur stuff together emusic, peeps don't like wasting there money...duh???

More album-only BS from emusic

riblet1958

Why should I pay you $6.49 for a crappy mp3 encoded "album" when I can get the CD from Amazon for 33 cents more? Eh? Keep on that greedy train, eMusic.

aerosmith is the worst!

joevegan

why are they even on emusic?!. . my disdain for what emusic is doing grows by the day . . .aerosmith fans like 'microbe' already have itunes and whatever other classic rock station you hippies listen to - come back down to earth emusic

Ageless!!! Michaelcot from Chicago, Illinois

mikeycot

As a youth I was introduced to the hard rock sound of Aerosmith. Now my children are jamming out to them. One of the most prolific bands to come along and continue to thrill fans and fill the big arenas. One of my favorite groups now and always. Aerosmith Rocks.

permanent vacation & pump?

sunny_groove

Not that I completely care because I own them... but Permanent Vacation and Pump are great fuckin albums! so where are they? hangman jury, angel, dulcimer stomp, st. john, F.I.N.E, young lust... I mean if it's gonna be 'album only' downloading... why not throw some more into the mix? :o)

Great album

kjc

Just discovered my CD is missing and my cassette won't do so needed to download to keep my music library intact. Worth the download (to me). Lots of pre-1980 hit songs.

Paying for great music

Microbe

People who are unwilling to shell out a bit of cash for great music are lame and not true music lovers. And if you are not a music lover, why are you here? Go cry to yourself while playing guitar hero, this is an amazing part of rock & roll history, worth every penny you'll spend for it. This is the original, the real deal. Rock and roll doesn't get much better.

Single Edits Hurt Songs

tromafiend02

This is a good intro to one of America's greatest rock bands but "Same Old Song and Dance," "Kings and Queens" and their masterpiece "Sweet Emotion" lose some of their power on the edits represented here. Do yourself a favor and download the original albums.

Played this album for 8 hours straight

LostMyMind

Great album. Lousy deal.

Hey - if that's what the artist wants!

Newomyn

This is a great album and well worth $6. Every track from Dream On to Draw the Line is classic Aerosmith. Well worth the 12 credits!

They Say All Media Guide

Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits remains one of the most popular and enduring best-of collections by any rock band, selling nearly ten million copies in the U.S. alone since its release. But when it was issued in 1980, the band had just about reached its nadir. With original guitarist Joe Perry gone (and Brad Whitford soon to follow), Aerosmith had turned into a directionless, time-consuming ghost of its former self. Since there would be a three-year gap between 1979′s Night in the Ruts and 1982′s Rock in a Hard Place, Greatest Hits was assembled, more or less, to fill the void and buy the band some time. With the album clocking in at only 37 and a half minutes, many Aerosmith classics are not included, such as what many consider the band’s quintessential track, their cover of “Train Kept a Rollin’.” The only poor selection is the forgettable “Remember (Walking in the Sand),” but nine out of ten are bona fide classics — “Dream On,” “Same Old Song and Dance,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Walk this Way,” “Last Child,” “Back in the Saddle,” and “Draw the Line.” Also featured is their venomous cover of the Beatles’ “Come Together,” previously only available as a single and on the soundtrack to the 1978 movie Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. For the casual fan, Greatest Hits will do the job, as well as its sister album, 1988′s Gems. – Greg Prato
