A classic voice

Marty Robbins was a very versatile singer. He was able to gracefully cross over to different genres. I have enjoyed listening to his music and remembering times past.

Marty Robbins was an original. You know its him from the first sound. This is a great sampling of his work. Lives on thru his work.

A good mix!

That includes almost all of the musical styles that make Marty one of the most entertaining and ambitious performers. With a touch of pop, rockabilly, latin, Hawaiian, country & western, the only thing anyone could ask for is MORE!

The double-disc set The Essential Marty Robbins: 1951-1982 effectively presents an overview of Robbins’ long, prolific career, taking in nearly every style he tried out during that time. There are honky tonk and hillbilly numbers and cowboy songs, country-pop, rockabilly and Hawaiian tunes — in all, there are 50 songs, including the great majority of his big hit singles. In short, it’s the perfect place to begin exploring his long, prolific and varied career, and it’s a necessary addition to any country music library. – Stephen Thomas Erlewine
