I was massively dissapointed when HR left in 92, but they found the one guy who could pull it off.....He even looked like hr a little..all in all this still is a great record. Their are some of Dr. Knows greatest guitar riffs on this record - although they are somewhat buried in the mix under the vocals.
I love this album! It's got a key classic Bad Brains feature: It's hardcore punk peppered with a little Regg. And although it sounds a little heavy metal -- as did many punk bands during this time -- it's still so Bad Brains that the subtle metal sound does not change their classic punk style or quality of music. The singing is still very outrageously done -- and thus, very UNheavy metal-like. And so the subtle heavy metal is a mockery that can't be taken seriously -- which makes this album just as enjoyable -- and just as super hardcore -- as those before it.
Just can't love this album without HR. A little too "metal'd" out on the sound as well. Couple of decent songs "Free" and "Unidentified".
