My Favorite Weird Al Album

jboogalu

I remember listening to this cassette over and over as a twelve year old and REALLY enjoying it. It still holds sentimental value for me, twenty some odd years later. "Living With A Hernia" is hilarious, "Here's Johnny" is an infectious tribute to the late Ed McMahon, and I dare anyone to listen to "Polka Party" and not have a smile on their face by it's conclusion. Listening through the audio clips, I actually think his non-parody tracks, including "Don't Wear Those Shoes", "Good Enough For Now" and "Christmas At Ground Zero", are some of the stand-out tracks on this album. There is only one "Weird Al" Yankovic, and this is some of his most enjoyable material.

This is the album that turned me on to Weird Al. "Christmas at ground zero" is a classic.

Different folks, I guess . . .

I don't get reviewers who refer to this album as a lowpoint in his career. I loved it when it first came out, and it still makes me laugh. The last two are really funny.
