This collection was actually pretty good. I had read that a new one was coming out and almost did not believe it. Then I had read that Junie Morrison had contributed. I was like when is the release date. This was some of the best material p-funk had did consistently since 1983. I felt they should have come out like gangbusters and release Summer Swim as the first single. Billy Bass, Blackbyrd McKnight, Boogie Mosson, Bootsy, Bernie Worrell, Amp Fiddler and Clip Payne as well as many others such as Gary James and Mudbone. To my surprise, none of the other p-funk all stars nor George Clinton disc release after TAPOAFOM have been as good. That includes Dope Dog among others.

An over looked gem

This is a great summer spin, and in my opinion, the most solid release of the later p-funk works. The album flows beautifully. Glad to find it here. I don't know why more people don't know about it. Get it while you can.

Funky Name, Funky Album!

This disc really pours on the funk all the way through with a lineup that had, for the most past, not recorded together in years. Including Bootsy, Bernie, Parker and Wesley, and many others. The disk starts out with the smoking anthem "If Anybody Gets Funked Up (It's Gonna Be You)" and ends with a great remix. In between there is a generous dose of funktified material. Some of my favorites of are "Summer Swim", with an infectious melody that just kinda gets in your head and is hard to shake loose; and "Underground Angel", a song whose lyrics seem so wrong on so many levels that I won't even start... but the song raps, rocks, rolls, and funks... All in one tight little package. And then "Sloppy Seconds", with it's most wicked bass line. And really, I could go on and on. Just one sick groove after another. Dig it.
