Oscar Brown Jr. was always more than a jazz vocalist, and here is perfect evidence of his brilliance. Beautiful and alive, worth a full download.

Although it's an essential album, it would be nice if Columbia re-released his other albums. There at least four and probably lots of unreleased tracks!?

The Moneywasters Social Club had sold 557 tickets (50 cents in advance, 65 at the door) to its dance at the Rhythm Club in Natchez, Mississippi, on April 23, 1940.
