I must be a completist

Stillakid2

Here's the deal..... Whether a band is cashing in or simply trying to earn a living, I found these renditions to be truly enjoyable! The clean sound really shows the level of talent in this group and the songs have a new melodic flow and should expand beyond the hard rock genre. It's like blending easy listening and rock and roll and reminds me of the cross over era of the 70's and early 80's when groups would write country rock and end up with a pop hit. While the sound, dynamic, and arrangement are different than those songs, the feeling of a cross over project exists and I think most will find the music to be crisp, very melodic, and easy on the ears.

With Good Acoustics, Firehouse attempted to cash in on the “unplugged” fad of the ’90s by recording acoustic versions of hits like “Don’t Treat Me Bad” and “When I Look into Your Eyes,” throwing in three new songs and a cover of the Eagles’ “Seven Bridges Road” for good measure. It’s a competent set, but it offers no new revelations about the band or the songs, making it an album for completists only. – Stephen Thomas Erlewine
