Prime Early 60s Pop

This is an excellent slice of Brill Building R&B. The big attractions are the hit "Tell Him" and the original version of "Do Wah Diddy," but fans of the period will want the rest of the tracks for Brenda Reid's powerful vocals and the fine songwriting from people like Ellie Greenwich, Burt Bacharach, Bert Berns, and Larry Banks. After the first two tracks try "He's Got the Power," "Talking 'Bout My Baby" and the girl-group-meets-ghetto classic "Movin' Too Slow."
