Don't let their peculiar name mislead you: Colorado's Yawn Tron are anything but boring. In fact, the duo's ferocious brand of percussion-driven glitchcore would feel at home behind a HEALTH track, and it's almost a wonder that Crystal Castles haven't borrowed from "Open Captioning" or "Braille Lies" already. The synth track alone could qualify as reasonably executed IDM, but it's the frenetic percussion that ultimately whips Open Captioning into a frenzy. With just a drum set and a laptop, Yawn Tron manage to project an impressive aesthetic somewhere between the avant-garde and the deranged.
